My first month at esveo

I've been part of esveo for a whole 5 weeks now, since October 1st to be exact. That's pretty crazy, because it hasn't seemed like such a long time with all the new tasks, experiences and challenges. I was looking for a new personal challenge and found one. You can find out exactly what my time at esveo has looked like so far in this article

The journey is the reward..... or something like that

I have spent my working life to date in front-end development. My focus has been on developing web projects with React, Vue and Nuxt.

But at some point I reached a point where I no longer felt challenged and was looking for a new challenge.

After a few conversations at esveo, it was clear to me that this would be the place where this could happen for me.

In my new role as a Junior IT Consultant, I hope to be able to contribute my strengths from my previous career and at the same time take the plunge into something new.

Everything is new

Who hasn't experienced it: the first day at a new job can be quite intimidating. The new tasks, which can be a bit overwhelming at first, sometimes make you feel like: Am I really the right choice for this?

Fortunately, my fears were quickly allayed. When I arrived at the office on my first day, everyone greeted me warmly and in a very friendly manner. And when I arrived at my workplace, I saw that I had been given a small welcome gift:

This little bit of attention immediately gave me a little more courage and showed me that it might not be as bad as I thought.

The first tasks weren't really scary either. You can read the result of my first task, writing a blog article, here.

From then on, I was gradually introduced to the new tasks and ongoing projects.

Porcelain and Hackathon

The team is really important here. We regularly do things together and soon after my first day, the first team event was already on the agenda.

After a meeting, we went to an Italian restaurant with my special friends. After a delicious lunch, as you would expect, we went out together to express our creativity by painting porcelain.

But special emphasis is also placed on learning together. We regularly take time on Fridays to take a closer look at a common topic or work together to solve problems that have been procrastinating.

At my first hackathon, most of my colleagues used the day to build a multiplayer game using web technologies. I used this day to have the other projects shown to me in more detail and to clarify open questions

These were just a few of the experiences and tasks that I have been able to implement in the last few weeks. I'm very excited about what the next few months will bring and I'm looking forward to being part of esveo!
